the Dark Side
Journal Entry: Thu Aug 14, 2008, 5:21 PM
Yes, the Force is now with me. I have abandoned the Dark Side, or rather - the darkroom.
I've used digicams since about 2003 for my job,(internet sales)- but never for personal work.
After 28 years as a film shooter, the time has come for change. This is due to rising costs and limited availabilty of B+W materials, lack of time for the darkroom, and the 2nd year of a severe drought where I live,(darkroom work requires a lot of water).
Yep, it's time for a change.
As much as I admire the way many photogs use Photoshop to manipulate their images - it bugs me on my own photos. I grew up in a photography world where the question was,"Did you get the shot?" - not,"How did you make it look like that?".
So I use PS as a simple image editor. Maybe that will change too???

Yeah - for all my personal work I use film. I use digital on my job,(doing simple product shots) - but I like the process of film and mechanical cameras.
Thanks.

The problem is this: I want something nice and inspirational, but I also like insulting people. *is shot* ...Okay, maybe I\\\'m an a@#$%^&, but at least we learnt something today. Don\\\'t be one, because you get shot.
